Where are the private keys stored?

Each installed LockPod application is a node. All users are running a node when they have the application open. LockPod distributes your encrypted and fragmented private keys redundantly across various nodes in the network. Additionally, there are fixed nodes that anyone can install to ensure that your application finds your keys when you log in.

Do I lose access to my crypto if Lockpod shuts down its servers?

No, LockPod does not have a central server; it is a fully autonomous P2P network.

Is the encryption of the pods secure?

LockPod uses military-grade encryption that is currently impossible to decipher. Additionally, it is impossible to know where each fragment of the private keys is distributed across the network.

Can I reveal my pod's CID?

No, but we did it on purpose, we keep sensible information obscured so we can ensure maximum security

If I decide to stop using Lockpod, can I reveal the seed or private key to recover my account in another wallet manager?

Yes, you can export your accounts to a zip file with all your private keys. However, LockPod will mark that wallet as unsafe if you decide to import them back to the app.

How many copies of my wallets exist?

The LockPod network will keep at least three copies on different nodes and three more on decentralized servers. This is the minimum. The more you use the wallet, the more copies the network will create.

Can I set up my own node?

Yes, although it's not necessary, you can set up your own node and pin your information there.
